Welcome 2022!

Posted on

Yes, I know we’re a bit late, but welcome to 2022 and to an exciting year with Recitals for Wrigglers!

We have already started back with the live concerts and Clea and Aisling have been busy entertaining little ones in Scotland for a few months now, with sold out performances at Stockbridge Church.

We haven’t got our act together down in the south of England yet, as Louise has been busy with concerts, education work and moving house, but we will be organising some soon. Louise B and Louise D played in an inflatable Igloo in Kent, in December so you really could find us playing anywhere!

We will be performing in Stockbridge on May 14, before taking our much loved sellout show, Wriggle Around the World, on tour in Scotland, thanks to the very generous sponsorship of Scotland on Tour.

We start our tour in Aboyne and Braemar, in Aberdeenshire, for two concerts, before travelling to the Isle of Mull. After performances in An Tobar, we travel to Oban for two concerts before making our way south to Jedburgh, and then home. We are so excited to be bringing our shows to a wider audience and we are looking forward to some beautiful scenery on the way. If you have friends or family in any of these locations, do let them know about our visit and make sure that they come and say hello!

Alongside planning our tour, Clea has been volunteering with Hear My Music, working with children in refugee camps in Lebanon. As well as supporting and training music teachers and special needs assistants she has started a children’s library for the children in the camps in Arsal.

Recitals for Wrigglers has sponsored a library leader (one of six so far) who now runs a book club in their camp. This is an exciting initiative that reaches hundreds of children at a low cost whilst simultaneously providing employment for a refugee with experience of working with children and young adults.

If you are interested in contributing to this initiative – either by sponsoring a book leader or by making a donation – please get in touch with us. recitalsforwrigglers@gmail.com

We will be returning to the Edinburgh fringe for a week in August, bringing two of our shows Wriggle Around the World and The Lion and the Mouse to audiences at Stockbridge Church. We hope to see you there!
